Preschool is so much fun! If you’re reading this, you’re probably trying to figure out how to do preschool at home with your toddler. I know for me, it was overwhelming trying to figure out how to even start. Today, I want to share our simple homeschool preschool routine with you!
The first thing I had to realize was that homeschooling has no rules! There really is no right or wrong way of doing things. It all depends on how your children learn. My children are very hands-on and get distracted easily, so I have to keep school short and find engaging ways for them to learn.

This graphic below shows the exact routine that we follow weekly. I used to do preschool four days a week and some of those days were on the weekend but we finally settled into the routine you see below.
We keep it super simple and use a mixture of fun printables that I make myself and bought curriculum. We focus on crafts, activities and games that are hands-on and get his body moving.
Every day, we use our preschool weekly calendar printable to figure out what day it is. This activity also helps him with his counting and number recognition.
Letter of the Week
Every week, we focus on a specific letter. From Monday to Friday we will do two things repeatedly which are:
- Work on our scripture memorization using my FREE ABC Bible Memory Verse printable
- Do a fun activity for the letter of the week
Once we finish our letter of the week activities, we move onto our Pre-K Learning essentials workbook. I got this workbook off of Amazon and we love it!
This workbook includes 3 books in 1 and everything you need for math, reading and writing readiness. I highly recommend this book for preschool. You can purchase it with the link below.
We also use printables I’ve created like this Editable name writing bundle for writing practice or this word-building activity for reading and spelling.
Science and or Music
On wednesdays we do a science activity/experiment or we work on our music theory. My son just loves both so we try to nurture that and use wednesdays to focus on either of the subjects. Below is an example of the kind of science experiments we love to do!
You can also check out these other fun experiments and activities we’ve done:
On Monday, Wednesday’s and Friday’s we do something Bible-themed whether it be read a story from our favourite children’s Bible or devotional or a fun Bible Activity. I highly recommend the Bible linked down below. It was actually my story Bible as a child and to this day I have my favourite story rhymes memorized.
Something else that we gave been doing is going through the Kids’ Catechism from the Westminster Standard. We have been LOVING it! Mostly because my son loves answering questions.
This is such a cool resource and is an excellent way to get truth into the hearts of our little ones. I highly recommend it.
Because my son is only 3 some questions are difficult for him to understand but we talk through them and I pick and choose which ones I know he’ll get.
The Simplicity of Homeschool Preschool
Like you can see from our preschool routine, it’s pretty straightforward and simple. We believe in learning through play and letting our children lead. I find that it keeps them engaged which results in them learning more.
There are so many ways to homeschool, this is just what works best for us.
I should also mention that I do this while also working a full-time job outside of the home. It is possible!
