We love cardboard crafts at our house! Our all-time favourite cardboard craft would have to be homemade cardboard puzzles.
Puzzles are great for so many reasons. They are fun to assemble and they develop brain skills like memorization, concentration, shape and colour recognition and more!
You can make any character, idea, subject into a puzzle that is captivating and entertaining for your child to learn from.
The thought of making a puzzle from cardboard at home may seem difficult, but with these simple steps, you’ll find that it’s very simple. Depending on the picture you want to make into a puzzle, it can be done in as little as 20 minutes!
Things you’ll need:
1. Cut two pieces of Cardboard
Make sure both pieces are the exact same size. The size will depend on the top of the puzzle you want to make.
Draw the desired picture onto one of the pieces. Make sure to do this in pencil in case you make a mistake.
3. Colour and Cut
Now it’s time to colour your picture. You can use paint, markers or whatever you want. I use paint most of the time as it shows up better on the cardboard. Once you’re done that, cut out the pieces with an x-acto knife.
Glue the piece with the cutouts on top of the other blank piece of cardboard.
When everything is done drying all that is left to do is enjoy! Your child will love making and solving these puzzles!
